Flixborough Parish Council Website Launched

Flixborough Parish Council website has launched and is now live! To view the website please follow this link.

The website was designed by Curtis Website Design for Flixborough Parish Council.  The first objective of the project was:

  • to allow the Parish Council to comply with the new Transparency Code code, which is applicable to all local authorities in England with a turnover of less than £25,000;
  • to provide an online portal for local parishioners to discover what their Parish Council does and how they can get involved;
  • to represent Flixborough Parish Council and the village of Flixborough online.
  • The second objective was to produce a website suitable for use by the local community for community-related issues. Consequently the website has a news blogging feature to allow the council to publicise events and issues of general interest, it is expandable to allow for community related pages such as the local parish history, local walks, the local church and village hall etc. There is also a photo gallery planned for adding a collection of images of the village in the future.

    Pictures of the Parish were incorporated into the header and into a front page image slider. Parish Council meeting dates and local community news are displayed in an event area on the front page and also on a separate calendar page. There is introductory text on the front page to welcome online users to the Parish website and to talk a little about the village itself. Other features include:

    • an area on the right side of the page to display the local weather forecast;
    • pages containing Parish Council information including regulations and governance, Parish Councillor details, Minutes and Agendas and financial documents.
    • a contact page to allow parishioners and others to easily contact the Parish Council online.
